Waste Not— People have been collecting waste for compost in bins forever. It’s tough to do if you’re in an urban environment with a small space; there are smells and city-critters that get into everything. Enter Lomi, a relatively compact, at-home, countertop composting machine. It’s a little pricey, but we like where this is going. Nat’l Ranch Day— Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has seven new flavors coming out. “Sweet Maple Cornbread” sounds interesting, “Carrot Cake’ sounds delicious. “Ranch” (dressing) sounds like a partnership. Those who like to put ranch on everything may experience ice cream nirvana. Good for them. Capitalism Badge— The new flavor in Girl Scout Cookies this year was Raspberry Rally. It sold out quickly on Girl Scout sites; then was available (with a significant price mark-up) on e-Bay. Hope— Did you know that supply chain pressure is actually measured in a Foodservice Supply Chain Pressure Index? And according to that index the pressure is easing. Finally— AI is everywhere
